A note from the ACBL listing: Carteret County Bridge Club was established in 1950. Our club has a rich history. The club came about when Al Dewey had Morehead City players and Beaufort players playing against each other. These "Tourneys" were played at the Jefferson Hotel that he managed. He played up duplicate in the local paper with headlines like this: "Beaufort Defeats Morehead In Duplicate Bridge Contest". In Sept. 25, 1950 the Morehead players, Beaufort players, and Al Dewey founded our club and joined ACBL. Al Dewey was our first president. Our club is owned and operated by the members. Currently membership is $5 a year and $5 to play in a game. Our club also hosts the Crystal Coast Sectional held the third weekend in October. We have been doing this sectional since 1953. All of our games are held at the Leon Mann Enrichment Center, 3820 Galantis Drive, Morehead City, NC 28557. We welcome you to come play a 'tourney' with us.
