What Bridge Instructors is

Bridge Instructors (bridgeinstructors.com) is where bridge players find and book bridge professionals - pros to play with, teachers and instructors - and find clubs and games near them. Pros list what they offer and their prices; players book a time with them; the pro confirms, and both keep track of the booking, and of its payment, on the site.

What the Google Calendar connection does

A pro who keeps their schedule in Google Calendar can connect it to Bridge Instructors, so that the two stay in step without typing anything twice:

  • Bookings go into the pro's Google Calendar. When a booking is confirmed, it appears in the calendar the pro chose, with the time, what was booked, who with, and a link back to the booking. When the booking changes or is cancelled, the event changes or goes away with it.
  • Busy times cannot be booked. What is busy in the calendars the pro chose shows as unavailable on their booking page, so players are only offered times the pro is free.

Connecting is optional and only for pros. Players never connect a calendar and never see a pro's calendar.

What we read and what we write

  • The list of your calendars, so you can choose which ones count as busy and which one your bookings go into.
  • The times and titles of events in the calendars you chose, for the next six months. Free, cancelled and declined events are left out. The titles are shown only to you, on your own Bridge Instructors calendar, so you can tell what is blocking a time; everyone else sees only that the time is taken.
  • Events for your bookings, which we create in the calendar you chose. We change and remove only the events we created; nothing else in your calendar is ever changed.

We do not use your calendar data for anything else: not for advertising, not to build profiles, and we do not sell it or share it.

How to connect, and how to stop

  1. Log in to Bridge Instructors as a pro and open Settings → Integrations.
  2. Click Connect Google Calendar, sign in on Google's own page, and allow access.
  3. Choose which calendars count as busy, and which one your bookings go into.

To stop, click Disconnect Google Calendar on the same page: we delete what we read from your calendar and give up our access. You can also remove our access in your Google Account settings. Bookings already in your calendar stay there.

Bridge Instructors' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. More in our privacy policy.
